I received a call from a business owner of a local Dry Cleaners – Laundry Service. The business is located in the northern part of the city. Overnight a car crashed into the store front damaging the main front door, the wood frame, a glass and block wall.

When the vehicle hit the storefront. The impact damaged the support column, the door jam, the king stud, the header, the trimmer stud, the top plate and the striker jam. The car’s impact moved the wall over 4ft. The header, and the top plate collapsed approximately 2 ft.

Removing the broken glass was dangerous. Glass panels are often ¼ inch (6mm) thick. It is heavy and dangerous.
We replaced the damaged existing wall.
The most difficult part of the job was lining up the king stud and striker jam to make the door line up and lock with the door. The owner wanted everything secure and safe.

My crew arrived at 11:55 am .
They started the clean up of the site. They threw all the debris into our dump truck.
We replaced the damaged wall approximately 20 linear feet. It was a standard wall 8ft high with 2×4 studs every 16 inches in the center.
We covered the frame wall with ¾ exterior grade plywood to the Los Angeles Building and Safety requirements.
We cleaned up the site, we hauled away all the debris, and we built the wall by 3:30. See the time stamp of the photo documentation. We photo document every job from the beginning to the end.
