An REO real estate broker in Pasadena, California was showing a property to potential buyers. As soon as he opened the front door, he smelled a putrid odor. The smell was so bad that the buyers refused to enter the house. The broker ended up losing a chance of a sale and thousands of dollars.

So what happened?

This vacant bank owned property was broken in by squatters. The transients left their trash and wastes throughout the house. They also stripped all the copper wiring and copper pipes of the property. The trespassed caused damages of tens of thousands of dollars to the asset company.

The property was in unsalable condition. The REO listing agent called Los Angeles County Property Preservations for maid services.
LACPP went to inspect the property and completed a thorough maid service.
